How AviaTests sources, writes, and updates its ATPL theory questions — and what the service does not claim about them.

  • AviaTests builds its question bank from multiple content categories, including original editorial work and external reference material.
  • Questions are designed for revision practice, not to replicate or reproduce official exam content.
  • AviaTests does not claim access to live, leaked, or official examination questions.

Sources

Where questions come from

AviaTests questions come from several content categories: original editorial drafts, external-source material, and document-backed references. They are study aids intended for revision practice, not official exam replicas.

  • Content is organised into three categories: AviaTests-owned original editorial, external-source reference material, and document-backed regulatory references.
  • The editorial team writes original question stems, distractors, and explanations. External-source refreshes do not overwrite AviaTests-owned or document-backed content.
  • Questions are not copied from official examination papers and AviaTests does not have access to live exam content.
  • AviaTests is an independent product with no affiliation to any aviation authority or examination body.
Updates

How the question bank evolves

AviaTests updates its question bank as part of an ongoing editorial process. There is no fixed update cadence, and AviaTests does not promise real-time alignment with official exam changes.

  • AviaTests-owned content is updated directly by the editorial team. External-source material is refreshed separately and does not replace owned or document-backed content.
  • Changes are driven by user feedback, reference updates, and internal editorial review — not by tracking official exams.
  • AviaTests does not guarantee a specific number of updates per period or real-time syllabus coverage.
  • Users can report issues or suggest improvements via hello@aviatests.com.
Safeguards

Content safeguards

AviaTests applies editorial and technical safeguards to keep the question bank honest and independent.

  • No official exam questions, leaked content, or copyrighted third-party exam material is used.
  • Questions and explanations go through internal editorial review before publication.
  • AviaTests does not claim its questions match the difficulty, format, or distribution of official exams.
  • The AI Instructor is a study aid only. It should not be used as a sole reference for exam preparation.
Limitations

What AviaTests does not promise

Being transparent about limitations helps students make informed decisions about how to use the product.

  • AviaTests is not a substitute for official course material, approved training, or instructor guidance.
  • AviaTests does not guarantee a pass result, specific score, or exam outcome.
  • Question coverage may not be complete for every subject at all times.
  • AviaTests does not claim to be the largest, most up-to-date, or most comprehensive question bank.
Content types

What kind of content is in the question bank

AviaTests groups its content into three public categories so students can understand where material comes from without needing access to internal systems.

  • AviaTests-owned content: original questions, explanations, and study material written by the AviaTests editorial team. This content is updated directly by the team and is not overwritten by external refreshes.
  • External-source content: reference material drawn from aviation theory textbooks, training references, and other study resources. External sources are refreshed on their own cycle and do not replace AviaTests-owned or document-backed content.
  • Document-backed content: supplementary material referenced from publicly accessible regulatory publications, such as ICAO annexes or EASA Acceptable Means of Compliance, used as reference points within explanations, not reproduced in full.
